what we do

Calcutta Rescue provides comprehensive, free, medical services to those most in need, including assessments and treatments by doctors, nurses, midwives, physiotherapists and podiatrists at our permanent and street clinics.

We run a number of disease, chronic condition and health education programmes, in Kolkata and rural west Bengal.

In addition to the provision of free medical treatment and medicines, Calcutta Rescue provides our patients with health education, food packages and transport allowances distributed according to income, medical status and nutritional needs.

We also provide education to over 500 pupils at our two schools, as well as vocational training and employment at our Fairtrade handicrafts and weaving projects.
